Hello!

Am I the only one watching the Olympics? I can't possibly be...

I was very happy today when I saw the first women's gold medal given to the United States in foil fencing ever!

:notworthy: :sundog: Lee Kiefer :sundog: :notworthy:

I was a foil and epee fencer in college, so naturally I made a beeline to the TV when I heard, "blah blah blah Fencing..."

cool!

I'd be more into these Olympics if I wasn't sleeping during most of the events. It seems all the stuff I'm interested in takes place around 2AM.  :banghead:

I also found the skateboarding interesting. There is a skateboarding park across the street from where I work and so many young people are out there every day - but now I understand what the tricks are supposed to look like! :D

But I watch Dina Asher-Smith in the women`s sprints too, so my Olympics can be condensed into about 60 seconds if everyone runs really fast,

I used to do those events you see, along with the relay and the 110 metres hurdles.

I'm only watching the SOCN version because that's where the important discussion takes place.

Oh I don't know, not below 10 seconds anyway obviously. All I can say is I was the fastest person in my school, before I was in the senior year. Once the staff found this out I was drafted in every year. That's what you get for showing off. I used to race against all the other schools in our district, about 15 schools altogether I think it was. Most of the time it was just a lot of sitting around with your schoolmates waiting to race, on your designated part of the field/stadium, depending where that years big event was held.

I got to around 12 seconds, but that was 35 years ago. Now it would probably be 30 seconds. :codger:

I did the anchor leg of our 4 x 100m and the 100m at school, seem to remember 11,46secs when I was about 17? But my memory might have shaved off a half second or so :codger:

GLUED to the TV when the summer and winter Olympics are on.

Skateboarding, surfing, water polo, and swimming are my favorites so far.   Looking forward to track and field events.

Watching USA vs Russia in volleyball. Americans will have a tough time doing any damage in this tournament without Russel and the other Sander. Hoping to stay awake long enough to see Poland vs Italy coming up later.
