_pete_
Here's some links to a couple songs that me and a few guys on the Counterparts forum have recorded. It's all done one track at a time starting with the drums (usually). It sounds pretty good for a bunch of guys who never met each other. I'm playing guitar on both tracks and a fellow named Kirk is playing drums. Keys, bass, and vocals are done by Andy and on Vital Signs bass is handled by Justin. Here is a link to the thread that started all this: http://www.rushmessageboard.com/forums/cp/...showtopic=31326 Freewill and Xanadu are in progress. Limelight and Tom Sawyer are done but the drummer is re-doing his tracks. And here's the tunes so far: Click the link, then click download. 1-0-0-1-0-0-1
Very cool idea. "Subdivisions" sounded pretty damn good considering the circumstances (I haven't listened to "VS" yet).
Indica
Yeah, good job. I always wanted to do this with the rest of my old band. The drummer and bass player both have everything to record with. The drummer has a studio and so does the bass player but getting them to actually do anything is like pulling teeth. If I had some decent drum tracks I could sit and write music all day. All I have is drum machines and they get old real quick. They are great for tinkering around and writing tunes and for ideas but to get a sweet recording I think real drums are a must. I have actually ganked drum loops and spliced them together and added fills and then laid bass and guitar tracks on top of them and most people couldn't tell the difference but I feel lame doing that lol. I wrote a cool tune with the beat from the foo fighters "my hero" spliced together with a couple other tunes. Anyway, this sounds pretty cool. I love it how you can record with people you never met before. That's almost like havin sex with someone you never met before,,,,,wait, well not really <puffpuff>,,,well kind of. Ask me again tomorrow, what was the question again? Sweet tunes man!!
