I'm gonna be the odd one out and say Tai Shan is only the second worse song on this album. I don't really dislike it much myself, though I see how it's garnered its poor reputation (sounds like spa music). Much less enjoyable to me is High Water (sorry _hi_water_), which pulls on the already thin melodic content of Tai Shan and does... not much with it. It's a rather boring song, certainly a boring closer. Very possibly the worst closer in Rush's career. Mission would've worked so much better in that role, or even Turn The Page. I think HYF has a number of really strongly crafted songs and features some of Neil's best lyrics, but the final two tracks have always seemed to bring it down. Of the two, I think Tai Shan is a little on the cheesy side so I'll go with that. High Water is more just uneventful.

Another very strong contender.

I wouldn't even know how to rank the songs on this album in the first place, so I guess as long as Prime Mover gets top 3 I'll be happy, but anything else that happens probably wouldnt matter to me.

I agree regarding Tai Shan and High Water.

I quite like Tai Shan... not enough to give it an immunity though.

Mission is one of my favourite synth era songs. Along with Marathon and Manhattan Project. I call them "The Three Ms" :D

At least "High Water" has some great basslines

I read that in Clint Eastwood's voice

I stand at the top of the mountain, and hear the only Rush song Lerxst has ever publicly used the word "suck" to describe.

Never really disliked Taishan but I do think that it's a bit boring compared to the rest of the album.

Actually took a liking to HYF straight away as opposed to Power Windows which had to grow on me.

And I get the feeling that PW is 'generally' thought of as the stronger one (unless I've misjudged the general feeling there...).

Like 'em both now.

Meh, so does Leave That Thing Alone, but neither of them really go anywhere.

I'm not a big fan of Leave That Thing Alone. It sounds like elevator music to me. Surprisingly Where's My Thing is much more engaging, as is Limbo.

All of which has some excellent bass.

After the highs of Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows (that's right), where to start with this flaccid synth-pop snooze fest?

I'll join the crowd to oust the execrable Tai Shan, but we can't go wrong here for at least four or five rounds.

Well it is Geddy Lee we're discussing. Excellent bass should be a given. lol
