Tesla's Love Song is solid, as is their cover of Signs.  Both are better than a.c anything I've heard from Cinderella*, so Tesla gets the nod.

*I saw Cinderella live back in the 80s and wasn't too impressed.

Tesla, all day and night.

Honestly, I never thought of them as hair metal. They had a bluesier edge, to my ears, than all of the hair bands I can think of.

Also, I saw them live, support act for David Lee Roth on his Skyscraper tour, in 1988. They were REALLY good live.

I saw them on that 5 Man Acoustical Jam tour & remember enjoying it.

Refuse to vote only because I have albums by both and like them equally. No 'I like them equally' option.

However, I only have Tesla's 1st 2 albums and Cinderella's Long Hard Winter.

TESLA, absolutely Tesla (My 19 year old self should not be this passionate about hair metal, my parents would be proud). I find Tesla's bluesier edge more compelling. I am known to listen to Hang Tough on my walk to class to pump myself up, which sounds sufficiently dorky.

Who do you prefer from these two 80's hard rock/hair metal acts?

I LOVE TESLA!  I used to hang out with them all the time backstage.  Frank is very nice.  Troy too.  Brian Wheat is sweet.  Not a Jeff Keith fan and his voice sounds like shit now.

I love the first four TESLA albums.  ACOUSTIC JAM SUCKS!  So boring.  They are from Sacramento.  Went up there to see them in their home town.  They put me to sleep.

I did see TESLA and KIX open up for GREAT WHITE.  TESLA blew them all away.  That was the "RADIO" tour.

My vote goes for CINDERELLA baby!!!!

I love all four of their albums.  Even "Still Climbing" is great with Kenny A. on drums!!!
