I came across this recording I made sometime around 2005.  At the time, I tried but gave up attempting to come up with a lyric and vocal line.  Anyone willing to give it a try...?

Be as goofy or serious as you like.

Well no one else bit so I thought it would be a fun challenge. I didn't really know how to get your track into my GarageBand, so I just played it in the background while I recorded the vocal. I've put my try on my soundcloud at the link below. I believe if you line up the two recordings to where your 16 seconds of yours is equal to 20 seconds of mine they'll be mostly in sync.

Be warned, I just recorded it though my laptop's onboard mic, so it's not exactly a pro level recording.

Hey, that sounds great!  I've just listened to the vocal - I'll try importing it into the song and line it up.  Thanks EP!

My stuff isn't even close to pro-level - it's all done in my basement, with the most basic software and no outboard gear.

Thanks to you! I really enjoyed working with outside material for a change. The instrumental is super cool by the way, love the very Geddy sounding bass and the Alex guitar licks in the solo.

Well it sounds a lot better than my stuff, lol. I found it really easy to get lost in the mix, you know in a good way. Just a really compelling atmosphere.

To be in synch with the song title, perhaps these lines might go well in the choruses

Again and again

And it happens again and again

Never again.  I swear - never again.

Oh, please, one more time again

Way too kind.  Thanks again.

I guess you can't download stuff from soundcloud.  I'm going to try putting the vocal into my digital recorder as a wave file.  Hopefully that'll work.

I'm pretty sure I wrote this for my late wife - we started dating on Groundhog Day, and got married on Groundhog Day.  And she did like that movie.  I have searched for the original lyrics, but I think what happened was because they weren't working I put them into a slush file and they got used in other songs.

Do you sing, PM?  Do you hear a melody for these lines?

Can't sing three notes in sequence to save my life.  :laughing guy:

I've made a few attempts at prose - some short stories and little autobiographical ditties.  I did write a 10-chapter story about my trip to NYC to see Rush R30 at Radio City Music Hall.  Unfortunately, that and a few other stories were lost over time.  :(

Here is the song with vocals courtesy of Entre_Perpetuo - I will soon try to add the lyrical contributions of Principled Man... and do a remix (that bass seems in my face a bit...)

Thanks, JARG!  That means a lot.
