For Earl 1976 was an important year, that was the year he learned to walk and talk. And the first word he spoke in 1976? METAL! As soon as he heard Sad Wings of Destiny from Judas Priest that was it for Earl and he's been a black metal fan since 1990! This poll sends Earl on a trip back in time when he took those first metal steps...

To many good ones here - '76 was a good year ....... I turned 18 and the world was right.

Best I can do is pick my standouts from each -

Rainbow, UFO, Scorpions, Genesis, Eagles, Starcastle, Camel

Priest, Lizzy, Sabbath, BOC, Montrose, Tommy Bolin

Lizzy, Rush, Boston, Kansas, Scorpions, Zeppelin, Budgie, Krokus, AC/DC, Rory Gallagher.

"Best" is certainly the qualifier here. Boston would have won their grouping as most significant/important, but there's a few albums I would pick above it as "best". Edited by stoopid

Steely Dan's Royal Scam being an earlier release [that I've come to enjoy the most of all their material] easily wins its group, despite Hotel California (maybe in spite of it lol).

Hmmmm I did forget one, although it's not a big album for the band, Tull's Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die!

Still pretty good!! :codger:

For being able to limit by choosing only three c.ds, and albums from bands, and groups released in 1975, and 1976, there are a lot of great, and classic ones. To name some of them, "Scorpions - In Trance, and Virgin Killer", "Genesis - A Trick of the Tail, and Wind & Wuthering", "Styx - Crystal Ball", "Kiss - Destroyer, and Rock and Roll Over", "Eagles - Hotel California", "Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny", "Rush - 2112", "Triumph - Triumph", "Paul McCartney and Wings - Wings At the Speed of Sound", "Heart - Dreamboat Annie", "Boston - Boston", "Kansas - Leftoverture", "Queen - A Day At the Races", "David Bowie - Station to Station", and "Led Zeppelin - Presence".
