  1. 1. Which do you prefer?

    • The 1989 album from Accept - Eat the Heat
    • The first three albums from Journey - Journey (1975) Look into the Future (1976) & Next (1977)

Recommended Posts

I fed all of Earl's favourite music choices into the computer and Accept's Eat the Heat came out on top as his most likely overall favourite. :D-13:

And with tunes with titles like “Fat Girl (Thar She Blows)” and “Party All Day (f**k All Night)”, Steel Panther was a very close Earl sloppy second.

The lyrics for that one go like this:

On a Saturday night

On a Saturday night

Everything is alright (wooh!)

Must’ve taken months to come up with those lines!

Look at the rest of it:

Mama said, she said it's gonna be alright

Yes she did, well come to bed and turn out the light

She's sleeping there, she's dreaming through her life

Yes, she is

Well you know you've done no wrong

All you done is sing this song

You sing this song, yeah

On a Saturday night

On a Saturday night

Everything is alright (wooh!)

That's when the bad man meets his fate

Sitting there, you're feeling only second rate

You're sorry now, you've come a little bit too late

Yes, you did

But when you come around

You only bring you down

You feel a clown, yeah

On a Saturday night

On a Saturday night

Everything is alright, yeah, yeah

Mama said, she said it's gonna be alright

You know she said, you've got to see the coming light

You know you are, you're riding through your life

Yes, you are

Well, you know you've done your best

All you need's a little rest

You've done your best, yes

On a Saturday night

On a Saturday night

Everything is alright

Everything is alright

On a Saturday night

On a Saturday night

Everything is alright

Everything is alright

Saturday night

Saturday night

Saturday night

Saturday night

Saturday night

Maybe they found one of Bernie Taupin's discarded napkins in a diner?

When I first saw the title of the Eat the Heat album I must have read it wrong. I thought it was the follow-up to Metal Heart called Eat the Heart. It makes more sense than Eat the Heat. :sundog:

Accept it

It's Unacceptable!

I'll go Journey

Had you gone with Accept's first three albums I would have chosen them.

From the Austin Chronicle.

Journeyman Neal Schon - Definitely progressive fusion rock

AC: Those first three Journey albums are out there. I don’t know whether to call it acid rock, space rock, what? Nuclear, definitely.

NS: [Laughs]

AC: You can hear the fusion, sure, but I’m pretty sure no one remembers how Journey began. How would you describe the sound of that version of the band?

NS: Well, you know what, in a sense I think we were like a mini Mahavishnu that was more rock & roll, progressive. Definitely progressive fusion rock. We were experimenting a lot, but it was very progressive. We were the original jam band from San Francisco. We just owned San Francisco. Every time we played at Winterland, no matter who we opened up for, we just killed. Destroyed. We did amazing. I remember when [our fans] saw the first show that Steve Perry came up and sang with us. They didn’t know what to think.

Was Balls To The Wall supposed to be comedy? Because I always saw Accept as a joke due to that song. Literally had no idea people actually liked them until I joined here.

The same goes for one of Earl's other favorites, Y&T.

Earl’s connection to Y&T is that he’s buddies with one of the members so that probably adds to his liking. His connection to Accept’s Balls to the Wall is his left and right testicles.

Y&T kill. They had one of the greatest 4 album runs in 80s metal.

The first 3 Journey albums are 70s gold.

Eat the Heat is warmed-over pap by a band that lost its way in the hairspray years.

I actually like that Accept album. It doesn't sound like Accept but I like it anyway, it's solid all the way through.

They're metal? Summertime Girls seems to go against that lol.
