Now that I got your attention.

I'm writing another quick The Outfield Thread!

Sorry Pat! I know you hate this band, but there is no sophomore slump here for my eccentric taste!!!

I think the album cover was really weird and it probably didn't help record sales.

I remember not liking this second release when it came out. I was a teen.

But today, I can't stop listening to this album.

Even my great friend Doug who is in Enchant loves this record too!!!

It's ok.

I'm not trying to be "Selling England By The Pound."

I think this record is very RUSH SYNTH RELATED!

I know it was the sign of the times then, but wow!!!

I think "Bangin'" is very RUSH influenced!!! "Play Deep" is a classic Power Pop Record.

I think "Bangin'" is very Power Progressive Pop.

Another thing about this record I love is that they put the hit single "Since You've Been Gone" at the end of the record.

In my mind it's a genius move. They wanted the listener to spin the entire album to get to the hit.

Did RUSH ever do this?????

Did they ever put a hit single at the end of any of their records?

No.

But for me being the biggest Rush Fruit on the planet, "Between The Wheels" and "Available Light."

Some might go with "Vital Signs."

"Working Man" perhaps.

An intersting question for a topic above eh?

I love The Outfield. Can't help it.

You never mentioned them before Earll. You waited until one of them died to reveal yourself!

Pat!! That's crazy!! I know JB digs them too. I didn't wait for Tony to pass Pat. I was crushed when their guitar player John Spinks died in 2014.

I've written some threads about The Outfield on here before!!

The first there Outfield albums are great. Then Alan Jackman left (their drummer) and it was all over.

They are a great three piece Pat.

Are they a better three piece than ZZ Top though? Do they have the original Billy Gibbons brown sound??

I prefer the Stones Earl, KEEF blows the Outfield guys away on his own!

Hahaha! Of course you do Pat! I know you!!!

Richards is a Legend. He's still alive. Just like OZZY.

It's incredible to me.

No drugs known to man can kill him! Booze goes through him like spring water! He has the constitution of a bull elephant and the ears!

Voices of Babylon is a hard listen. Sounds like it was produced by Peter Henderson.

You are right my friend. "Voices" is very weak. Someone might have told Jackman to play more like a frigging drum machine. Jackman's drumming on the first two records are simply incredible!!!!!

Then the third album came out and I was like? "What the hell happened to that slick drumming?

Of course then Jackman left the group. I would have too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G578SYV7u6E&t=21s

A little bird gave me a heads up on this band. It's right up my alley! I'm bummed I can't find this on cd.

I had this album on vinyl back in 1985, I'll see if I can hunt down a CD it's too good not to have it! I totally forgot about it though for decades until the other day posting to you in one of these threads!
