A small pet peeve I have is when specific threads constantly go on forever with comments where they just won't die and be dormant, unless they're locked.

This will probably be one of them.

Yet there's other threads that deserve more comments and views in my opinion.

Are you suggesting that we lock this thread?

It would be nice, but I doubt it'll happen. I'm sure members are entertained by the 'long and winding thread road' of this whole scenario.

When this thread started there was a chance it would need to be closed. But the good folks here took it in a different direction.

We close threads only when they're in need of closing, and right now, this one doesn't need it.

Is that a challenge...?

No! This thread is a safe space!

If a thread becomes locked for whatever reason by an admin, the user should just leave well enough alone and carry on, and not start a separate thread in protest.

Yeah. Quick, someone start a "Worst RUSH song" thread.

What Rush Songs Do You Think are Underappreciated?

Madrigal is a hidden gem on RUSH's best album.

I vote for Dog Years, it isn't even the worst song on that album, let alone their catalog.

Garden Road is the best thing they ever did.

But if it closes, I'll have to apply for membership to SOCN. And that seems like a lot of effort.

Aren't you the one who thinks Permanent Waves is an 80's album?

Forget about it.

Says 1980 right there on it. :dweez: Ged even admitted it was an 80s album on R40. Am I getting too inflammatory here?

Oh, Geddy! :sarcastic: What does he know? :eyeroll:

he was there when the songs were written and recorded; he of all people should know better than to get it wrong.

I doubt you weasels will follow through, but in the off chance, please answer these questions.

1. According to record companies, Billboard, record stores, etc, what date is considered the official record release date?

2. Using historical sales info or official record release dates, what date is listed as the official date for the album "Permanent Waves" by the band Rush? (it's not the usually accepted date, by the way)

3. Do personal beliefs, about anything usurp scientific/official data?

Thanks in advance.

I used to hate that song. It's grown on me.

"Counterparts" is the last great Rush Record for me.

"Alien Shore" is genius. Kills me every day that they never played it live.

It was all about the music for me. Amazing. Lifeson with some hints of Hendrix.

Your premise is faulty.

Out of respect for the relative level of comity in this thread, I will refrain from further comment.

Permanent Waves was entirely written, recorded, and produced in 1979.

As disorienting as 2020 has been to date, I think I have more trouble wrapping my mind around post #323 than anything else I've seen this year.
