As Earl used to say, before they moved to Vegas...RAIDERS!

How would you grade Temple of Doom and Last Crusade?

I like them, probably Last Crusade only a B.

So you'd rate Temple over Crusade?

Yeah.

Same!

Yeah.

That's a little suprising. I think I'd go like this:

Raiders: A+

Temple: B+

Crusade: A-

Crystal Skull: F!!!!!!!

I found the whole "dad" relationship between Sean Connery and Harrison Ford a bit annoying after a while. It kind of went a bit too slapstick.

Not as annoying as whiny damsel in distress Capshaw and the little kid. Also, I’ve seen worse father son sequels. I’m looking at you, Die Hard 5!

Some movie that originally starred Eric Stoltz.

I like Stoltz well enough but at this point it just seems weird to have anyone else besides Fox as Marty.

Ironic that he played Lea’s son yet was her love interest in the gender reversal version of Pretty In Pink, Some Kind Of Wonderful.

If I could like this twice -- once for ToD and once for DH5, I would.

Wow!

I have to interject my two brothers.

I am sorry that I am bitter tonight and sad. I wish I could trust women, but I always knew there was something up with that Carly chick. Fake, fraud, and I was fooled again.

But forget it.

I can't believe you love "Temple" that much. I think that movie is the worst one out of the four.

Same here. I really don't enjoy it at all.

I'm a bit surprised that Empire doesn't have more votes as most favorite.

Also, it's kind of interesting that Rain Man (currently) has 9 out of 14 people giving it an A- grade or higher BUT there's not a single vote as someone's favorite. It's easily one of Cruise's best imho.

http://youtu.be/cKw1b2-4aeU

Well now it has one favorite vote...mine.

I hate typical hollywood formulaic swill. IF I can see a 3 minute preview and predict the whole movie, there's no point in watching it. The 80s were full of overrated shitty movies.

"yeah...2112....21 plus 12 is...33...21 minus 12 is...9...21 times 12 is...252...21 divided by 12 is...1.75. 1.75 hours until Wapner."

When I look at the top grossing 90s list, I think the 80s one here destroys it. Check it:

'90 Ghost

91 Terminator 2

92 Aladdin

93 Jurassic Park

94 The Lion King

95 Die Hard with a Vengeance

96 Independence Day

97 Titanic

98 Armageddon

99 Star Wars: Phantom Menace

Die Hard with a Vengeance was mediocre and from there it just got worse and worse. Independence Day was a big time cliche, Titanic was great for insomnia, Armageddon made me want them to fail the mission, and Phantom Menace was the first of many TRULY shitty Star Wars movies.

Yeah I was thinking about him and Some Kind of Wonderful in relation to Back to the Future. I kind of think of Stoltz as that kind of underdog (in Some Kind of Wonderful that is), not the Marty McFly kind of underdog if you know what I mean. The hulking Biff against the mini-Marty Michael J. Fox added to the flavor of that rivalry too.

ET and 3 Men and a Baby are really the only 2 of these movies I don't watch if I come across them on TV now. They're both fine movies, but I don't love them. The rest are outstanding. But BHC was just such a great story, with a great comic actor at his peak. Eddie pretty much dropped like pool ball off a table a few years later, but in the early to mid 80s he was awesome. Same thing happened to Chevy Chase.

Speaking of 90s movies (despite this being an 80s movie thread), here’s a fun scene in a surprisingly very GOOD movie:

http://youtu.be/hIdsjNGCGz4

I’ve never been a Damon or Affleck fan but they filled their roles fine in this movie. :hail:

I lived in that neighborhood. Interestingly, Affleck's "Southie" accent is terrible, even though he's from Cambridge. Damon's, in this and especially in The Departed, is spot on. He's sounds like most of my family.

92 Aladdin

94 The Lion King

The 90s were great for Disney.

Add to those...

Toy Story, Mulan, Bug's Life, Nightmare Before Xmas, Tarzan, Hunchback....

Damon’s good at being a rat in The Departed. I’m no DiCap fan either but I quite enjoyed him punching Damon in the face repeatedly on that rooftop.

The worst accent of all time has to go to Brad Pitt doing a Pikey accent in Snatch.

Trivia: Apparently, Pitt couldn’t pull off a London accent so Guy Ritchie had him speak Pikey. Couldn’t pull that off either imho. :P

"Love Is For Suckers!"

Listening to The Tubes "Love Bomb." Figures. LOL!

I love life.

Curveballs everyday but it's so fun.

I can't wait for INDY 5. Sad that Spielberg is not directing.

Spielberg would rather do a fuckking play movie "Westside Story."

How stupid. That play should be left alone. So lame.

Where is "Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind?" I will write it.

I will hire John Carpenter to direct it.

LOL!!!

I'm finally writing my screenplay!!!!

It's ok, I will never share it with you on a public forum.

It's a great idea.

I just need millions of dollars to secure all of the songs in my flick. It will be Epic.
