I've been listening to Ben Mink's 1980 solo album Foreign Exchange.

The first song on the album is titled '1995 Plus Tax' and when I hear it, it's like a variation of 'Freeway Jam' by Jeff Beck and 'Natural Science' by RUSH combined together.

At the 2:17 mark on '1995 Plus Tax', is where I hear the 'Natural Science' related bit of what I'm describing that occurs at the 7:17 mark.

The rhythm and tempo are slightly similar on each song section as mentioned above.

Yup, I hear the similarities, especially when the drums come in with the beat.

I forgot to mention that Martin Deller of FM plays drums on Foreign Exchange.

I'm sure everyone is aware of the connection with Martin Deller and Neil Peart here and here.

Foreign Exchange is his one and only solo album. He also was a member of FM and has done soundtrack work for movies.

He's also known for collaborating with k.d. lang (he co-wrote the hit 'Constant Craving') and produced two of Heart's recent albums.
