Has anyone worked out yet why all these fools keep stockpiling toilet paper?

The article does mention the reason I figured they were doing it. They're preparing in case something happens and they're stuck in their homes for an extended period of time.

I also thought maybe people are worried about truck drivers getting sick and not being able to make the deliveries. So, they're stocking up in case supplies run out for a bit.

Far as I can tell, people are kind of itching to be scared of some big international incident and the new virus is just big enough to make a bunch of folks think the apocalypse is upon us. Then the rest of us have to fight to get the standard amount of toilet paper we always get. Fear is a powerful thing; Neil wrote four songs about it.

Thing is, there aren't a lot of replacements for toilet paper. You can't flush regular paper towels, they will clog the sewer line quickly. Because that paper does NOT dissolve in water quickly. Same thing with kleenex/nose tissue.

You could I guess use washcloths, but what does it look like keeping those clean? Ugh.

TP is pretty essential, come to think of tt.

Five more reasons for the toilet paper craze.

1. People want plenty on hand for Halloween which is coming up in 7 short months. Also great for emergency Christmas tree decoration.

2. You'll want to save several rolls for Uncle Ed when he visits at Thanksgiving. Oh and stock up on air freshener too.

3. Because a cat without a roll of toilet paper is like a dog without a roll of toilet paper.

4. Toilet paper use could be the last vestige of a civilized society. And besides, who wants poison ivy in their ass crack?

5. This panic has caused many people to devolve into turd flinging monkeys and, hey, you really need something to wipe off with after flinging a turd.

Step into the shower if at home and those wash cloths are just fine. Years ago cloth diapers were the only option and people managed to live through it.

Yup. It’s boredom.

A lot of kids are home from school now for an extended period of time in a lot of regions. Parents were also probably preparing for that too with buying up so much. If the kids are home and got nothing else to do put play around on their phones and eat, they're going to go through a lot more TP.

It does seem very strange on the surface at first. But once we take a few minutes to think about it, their reasoning is really quite logical. We all will be living in a different world for a little while now.

I doubt most were thinking that they have to buy more because their kids were going to stay home. Many were panic buying because the next guy was panic buying. The third guy saw those two panic buying so he got scared there’d be nothing left for him so he did the same. Some others saw those three guys panic buying and taking up what was on the shelf so they got a ton too. And on and on and on with very small numbers imho considering their now at home kids taking more dumps. Besides, the number of shits will be the same. I don’t remember going to school every day as a kid and taking a steamer.

Because stupid people in large groups have been ruling America for years even before Trump, Hiltons and Kartrashians. Idiocracy has been prophetic for a long time but it’s all open now. Jane’s Addiction was right about idiots ruling.

People panic buying in shops and getting into physical altercations over water and tp at the local super aren’t the idiots in charge

There's no sports events or concerts or theatre now so watching idiots fighting in supermarkets is the new entertainment.

It's time to bow to Roletta Toletta, the Goddess of Toilet Paper :notworthy:

went to the store today for regular foodstuffs, and there was nothing in the paper aisle.

luckily, we already have stuff and there's only two of us...
