2020 MLB Season Thread! "Damn Yankees?" Cheating Astros Red Sox? Nats Repeat? Oakland's Young Pitching?

Wait, a Dodgers-Astros bench-clearing beanball (perceived) incident in a COVID-empty stadium? Just how stupid are these people?

Dusty Baker face to face yelling at the umpire? Announcers noting that "they're doing it the right way" since they have masks on.

Not a fan of 16 teams in the playoffs. The regular season—especially such a short one—means nothing now, since more than half the league will make it in the end. As long as you don’t totally suck, you’re in.

Damn. That still leaves the Royals out . . .

The Phillies have canceled all workouts today at Citizens Bank Park after a coach and home clubhouse staffer tested COVID-19 positive.

So Joe Kelly gets suspended for more games than any Astro for doing nothing...

Rob Manfred is a gutless f***ing pussy.

Throwing at someone's head = doing nothing?

He wasn't close with any of them. So yes. Nothing. Certainly not worthy of the longest suspension ever given to a relief pitcher. It's the equivalent of a 22 game suspension. That's ridiculous.

Intentionally throwing at people's heads is a shit move by a shit person.

Should Manfred have given longer suspensions to the sign stealing cheating scum. Yes. I would have suspended them for a year, or possibly more. Doesn't excuse throwing at people's heads. Nothing does.

But he wasn't throwing AT their heads. A pitcher who has made it that far can hit a head, if that's what he's going for.

Cardinals game postponed, positive test. Possibly more than one.

Move to hub format or cancel season ffs.

If we're going to cancel games based on one positive test (which could even be a false positive, the tests aren't perfect), just cancel the season already. There's far too many gimmicks involved already and 7 inning doubleheaders and the extra inning rule make this too dissimilar to real baseball that any championship should come with an asterisk anyway.

The extra inning and DH rules make me want to vomit but at least it's some baseball.

Sorry bud. Heyman just tweeted multiple positive tests which means the Twins are very possibly infected also.

We know how the other leagues handle this. Let's see what the league run by a militant union does.

The solution is simple. Hub.

Edit,

Manfred just warned union to shape up or season is toast.

More Cardinals test positive, Saturday's game cancelled.

Nation's sportswriters laud team, say players contracted virus the right way.

The Brewers' Lorenzo Cain has opted OUT.

It's only a matter of time before MLB says, "Nighty-night!"

In other words, the Mariners still have no shot

Well the Houston WS title doesn't come with one so I don't foresee this year's WS winner having one either.

No, there's no chance of an asterisk, officially, at least. But individuals will place them on their personal lists, or consider it not to be legitimate, just as many fans do with Bonds' records, or edter does when someone other than the Yankees win the title.

Royals -- won four in a row!

Cardinals -- haven't played in weeks!

Tied for the fewest losses in baseball!
