zappafrank
Those were the first Neil lyrics* I listened to upon getting home from work after hearing the news. I'd thought I'd start the grieving process with the Hemispheres album (my favorite Rush album), but then decided that Cygnus X-1 into Hemispheres would be nice, so I opted for the Kings album. But upon Geddy singing those words, it struck me how appropriate they were as we journey down the path of the new normal without Neil, marking the passage of time and how history will remember departed people and their mark on the world. I took nothing more really than that from the moment, but it did strike me how fitting it was, and I just wanted to share. * On the way home, I wanted to listen to Rush, but since I was on a bus, I was afraid that it would get to me and I'd lose my composure in public. So I found a happy and enjoyable middle ground of listening to and rediscovering the 1st album (with my thoughts directed towards remembering John Rutsey and *his* contributions to the band).
