I know Alex played guitar on one of Larry's albums, so he has a nice connection with Rush. Anything Larry does is amazing

Gowan was signed as a solo act to Anthem as well; that's where the connection with Alex is.

Gowan is great. And Tommy posted a lovely note as well. If you know me on here, you know they’re my Other Band.

Another Styx connection:  The first concert I ever saw was Rush on the Hold Your Fire, and Tommy Shaw was the opener.  Unfortunately, the crowd really wasn't into Tommy, except for the one or two Styx songs he included in the set.  I'm pretty sure he did Renegade and I think also Blue Collar Man.

I checked the set list for yesterday's Styx concert here.

The Styx song before the Neil Peart tribute by coincidence is 'Too Much Time On My Hands'.

Peart admitted that the inspiration for "too many hands on my time" in 'The Analog Kid' is from 'Too Much Time On My Hands' according to here.
