I am having a hell of a time with this, what is the best way to convert dvd audio to flac, mp3 etc? tia.

Here is a DVD audio extractor that converts to mp3s and Flac. You get a 30 day free trial with this one.

Here is one that is totally free but only converts to mp3.

I have not tried either one.

If you convert it to the highest bit rate, you won't be able to tell a difference between that and .flac anyway.

Do you use Windows?

Yes

In case the suggestion of snowdogged didn't work for you, try "DVD-Audio Explorer"

It's an old tool from 2008 and I've read a lot of good things about it, but never tried it myself. So, no guarantee here! It should just do the job, converting the aob files to wav. I also heard that the files will be splitted into 1gb portions, which means you do not get a proper track list.

So what do you have now? Wav, flac? Is it a single file or do you have different files of the single tracks?

It is a single file and it is mp3, i cannot seem to move to Windows media player?

What does that mean "move to"? Can you play it with that player? Have you tried other players?

Have you tried VLC player?

You can extract and convert the audio with that.

Whst’s the disc?

I will try that, the disc(3) is frank Marino-live at the Agora Theatre, this is an amazing package, over 12 hours of music. Outstanding. thanks Tony.

Maybe the problem is file size? If you extracted the entire DVD into one file it’s probably pretty big.

No, I was extracting i disc at a time. Still cannot figure it out.

If anyone finds the audio to Frank Marino- Live at The Agora Theatre, please let me know. tia.

I'm confused on what you're trying to do here.

a) You needed to rip a dvd to an audio file. You did that.

b) What next?
