bad songs from good albums

On the early albums Megadeth used to stick in a sh!tty cover like These Boots or I Ain't Superstitious. Those covers spoil otherwise top thrash albums.

I dig the I Ain’t Superstitious cover. It plays into the album’s jazzier/blusier influence.

The Twilight Zone

I never cared for Golden Earring.

:)

I was talking about the filler on 2112, obviously.

It's a good song.

Great guitar tone, cool vocal effects, zero spaceships named after horses...

It's easily the worst song released from 2112 to Moving Pictures, at least.

Madrigal? Rivendell? Xanadu?*

*ok, i'm trolling there

Rivendell was prior to 2112.

I disagree as these boots is the shit.

Not that crazy about ain't superstitious though. Its ok

They may be best covers the deth did though. After that it was milking the sex pistols twice and then alice cooper.

Maxwell's Silver Hammer

Maybe not "bad" by a non-Beatles standard but bad in the sense that if falls far short of the std set by the rest of the album, even compared to the equally silly but far more charming Octopus's Garden.

Has revolution 9 been mentioned? Worth mentioning again if it has.

You don't like that? That's a great song. Well, whatever it is.

George had a stockpile of good to great songs. Two novelty songs on Abbey Road was a misstep.

I love Maxwell's Silver Hammer! And Octopus' Garden!

But it's not like you're wrong about George.

Steve Martin does a good cover in that Sgt Pepper movie. Bad movie, good soundtrack.

^^ I think this is part of the problem. Not saying Steve Martin wasn't great, he was, which is partly why I can't hear the song without picturing him. Kind of ruins the (Abbey Road) album experience for me.

The majority of Moonchild is King Crimson's least enticing improv jam until one of the random shorter ones on SABB.

Peak Hour - The Moody Blues (Days of Future Passed)

I agree, I usually only listen to side two, didn't care for the first side.
