Blue J
Incredible jazz pianist, had his own discography as a bandleader but was significantly more prolific as a session player on others’ albums...my favorite album on which he appeared is Jackie McLean’s Consequence album (1965)- and also Lee Morgan’s Live at the Lighthouse set from Hermosa Beach, California, 1970. RIP to a brilliant musician. https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/news/2019/09/19/memphis-jazz-great-harold-mabern-dies/2380287001/
Lorraine
I listened to Rakin' and Scrapin'. Reminded me of Hugh Masekela for some reason. Says at 82 he was still playing concerts and better sounding than ever.
