Tried hamburgers with this Free Graze "100% American Kobe style ground beef" last night.

Very high fat, listed at 23 grams for a 4 oz. patty.  Made two for Karen, and poured a fair bit of fat off the grill before starting cooking my burgers.

Things were tasteless; no amount of cheese or condiments were going to save this meat bomb.  Sat like a lump in mah belly all last night.

Karen fared better than me this morning, had a full scrambled eggs breakfast, while I barely touched a bowl of shredded wheat.  I was planning to hit the local for wings and beers to watch the Pats gang rape the Fins, but now I don't think so.

Just a heads up, be wary of this stuff.  Save your stomach!

Good to know. I've tried the Wahlburgers patties that were in my local store. Pretty good, although the thought of those no talent ass clowns making money off me makes me a little nauseous.

My taste buds and stomach usually overrule any personal feelings of who made it.

Thanks for the heads up! Usually you hear that Kobe beef is supposed to be special.

I'll blame the free graze part! I have tried to eat free graze/grass fed ground beef a few times and it gave me horrible stomach cramps each time. It took a few times to put it together but now I really avoid it.

My doctor said he never heard of that, that it is supposed to be better for you. I told him I was raised on boxed mac and cheese, bologna, and hot dogs (true). My stomach can't handle extra healthy things, it has been conditioned differently!  :P

OMG, I just had a memory vision involving Kraft boxed mac and cheese, with the packet of dried cheese powder!  Along with fried ring bologna and onions.  And "city chicken".  All that late '50's-early 60's recession food!

And I won't even start on some of the sketchier things allegedly put into cold cuts and hot dogs.

Kobe beef has more fat hence the more flavorful quality. Whether it’s actually healthier or not, I don’t really know. But I do know that NO Kobe beef even here in Japan is actually from Kobe. It’s a brand the same as any other.

Locally a long established meat market/grocery store went out of business when Listeria was found in multiple areas of their two stores.  Wednesday they had a going out of business sale at one location and the place was packed with folks willing to take a risk for cheap meat.

Well, he was named after the very thing we’re talking about. So yeah, you’re on track....though his name and the city/beef brand are pronounced differently
