45 years ago! I just love these clips, brilliant live document.

The sound isn't the best, and varies a lot, but the performances are great.

If you have three hours to kill. Enjoy!

Love it!

I’ve seen a couple of different band’s sets rom that show over the years.

I had no idea how much preparation and work it took to pull off the whole festival, it’s really incredible.

Yeah, the documentary bits are amazing. I've also seen a lot of the performances already, but the interview sequences and the backstage footage are new to me.

Nice! Thank you.

Some of us are so old we watched at least part of the original broadcast on TV

:codger:

Always thought it weird seeing Iommi without facial hair during this show.

Haha, I'm not that old but ten years later German TV had a rebroadcast of the festival and I still have it on VHS. LOL. :D-13:

On a sidenote, Amazon Germany lists Deep Puple at California Jam (Japanese CD) for € 698,57.

Whenever California Jam is mentioned, Emerson Lake and Palmer is always the first thing that comes to mind.

The flying piano!!! Crazy stuff!

The Lucky Man version is just beautiful!

Not much of a fan of the album version, but I've always like this live version quite a bit. That whole performance of that show was amazing.
