1. Permanent Waves - Rush

Probably the best sounding 70s album ;)

1. Permanent Waves

2. A Farewell To Kings

3. Hemispheres

4. Fragile - Yes

The solo tracks may keep this from being my favorite Yes album, but the sound is as pure a fresh and clear as the water on the utopian planet on the cover.

2. A Farewell To Kings

3. Hemispheres

4. Fragile - Yes

5. Blood Sugar Sex Magik - RHCP

Rubin cleaned up the RHCP sloppiness and got an amazing consistent sound using old school analog in a creepy old LA mansion.

4. Fragile - Yes

5. Blood Sugar Sex Magik - RHCP

6. Achtung Baby - U2

7. IV - Led Zeppelin

Bonham's drums reverberate like they were recorded in a cathedral yet Page's guitar is so immediate, crisp and shimmering. As near a perfect LP as exists.

Page's production is always forgotten.

Eddie's best sounding record - in terms of tone, the so-called "brown sound" - and therefore one of the greatest guitar albums. Still mindblowing, from the beginning of Mean Street all the way through to the solo that plays out One Foot Out The Door.

That was very funny. I read it at about 5 AM this morning. It makes a difference when you start your day off with a hearty laugh.
