Lorraine
The school down the road is playing all the old Doobie hits. We have a strong southwest wind today so the sound from the school is traveling our way. I just love those old songs - China Grove, Black Water, Without Love. Don't care for the Michael McDonald Doobies as much, but they still had good songs. His voice gets old fast for me. What do you think about the band? "Taking It To The Streets" is blasting now. :) :7up: Edited June 3, 2019 by Lorraine
bluefox4000
I love the Tom Johnston era. Good time party band. I love every album from that era. good forget your troubles band. i Appreciate the Michael era too. but they really are two completely different bands. they became smooth yacht rock city with Mcdonald. and Michael was also heavily involved with another little band at the time. a nice outfit called Steely Dan. blueschica
Old school Doobies are awesome. Don't like anything after McDonald joined. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCJHHoYm5zE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqtrE-iZsz0  Those are two good ones! I made my son laugh a few weeks ago. He said, "I'm going to a wedding in Northern California, I'm sure you never heard of it, someplace called Ukiah . . " He didn't know how many times I had listened to "The Captain and Me" ! I forgot to ask him if they used the song in the festivities! I always thought "South City Midnight Lady" was really pretty. I saw them in Three Rivers stadium back in the day and it was an awesome show, even though it was just them and their guitars; no staging or lights etc. It was during the day so it must have been a World Series of Rock type thing. :P

custom55
Never liked the DB's.West coast vibe, brah. Saw Doobies / Argent in 1973. Enjoyed Argent more. There was a lot of music coming out that year that it was tough to keep up with it all. http://youtu.be/kaRyTFQTl5U Edited June 4, 2019 by custom55
