Despite my earlier post here are some of my favorite 80's bands:

Van Halen

Def Leppard

Marillion

The Smiths

U2

REM

The Police

The Cars

Talking Heads

Yes, I know some of them were around in the late 70's.

But they had some of their best songs in the 80s I think.

Van Halen and the Police and probably the T-Heads too all peaked in popularity in the eighties I think(which is why I added them). The Cars best selling album is their debut which is from 1978 but they were big in the eighties also. I almost added the Cure to the list but like them less than the others. They were a decent enough band but I'm not that big into goth stuff over all anyway.

Neither am I. The Cure has a sound I do not care for.

This is the happiest, most upbeat song ever, I always listen to it when I have a bad day.

Kenny Loggins was a good looking man in his prime. Still is.

You're absolutely right about the song. I remember it fondly, and still listen to it from time to time. It is upbeat and always gives you the necessary push to just keep moving along no matter what.

^^ Not a Kenny Loggins fan but have always loved this song! Theme song to one of the greats in cinematic history, Caddy Shack. :goodone:

Kenny Loggins was the King of 80's soundtracks: Caddyshack, Footloose, and Top Gun.

I think of the dancing gofer at the end of Caddyshack whenever I hear the song.

Over The Top And Caddyshack II. Nobody’s Fool and Chevy we’re the only goof things about it. Mason is no Dangerfield.
