Pink Floyd - MORE

Just bought it and listened to the whole thing for the first time, and loved it in its entirety.

Opinions on certain songs, or the album?

Is the film good?

Their soundtrack work is wonderful. Get Obscured By Clouds, too. smile.gif

The two disc TCM version of Zabriskie Point is another treasure trove. Three Pink Floyd songs grace the soundtrack album, and the second disc has eight outtakes. Four are Pink Floyd, and hold some surprises. And the other four are solo! Jerry Garcia. ohmy.gif

For those who love early Pink Floyd, the soundtracks are a must.

For being an early Pink Floyd freak, I've never really given More its due, always thinking of it as "just a soundtrack," and a good, but inconsistent one. Maybe it was the fact that the material was kind of hurried to produce it, but it doesn't hold up nearly as well to me as any of their pre-Dark Side studio albums as a whole. Still, a must-have for early Floyd freaks, and there are some great songs. An album that produced Cirrus Minor, The Nile Song and early concert staples Cymbaline and Green is the Colour really isn't too shabby. A very good album, just not their best. I think it's better than Obscured by Clouds, though not as good as the Zabriskie Point material which is a MUST-HAVE - look for a bootleg (like The Ultimate Zabriskie Point - or is that a legit release?) that contains all the music they recorded for the movie, much of which was not used - some amazing stuff in there...
