After the first 10 games of the season, the Brewers are doing well at 8-2, and have won all three series, beating the Cardinals, Reds and Cubs.

As expected, Christian Yelich is leading the way with his big bat and all-around great game.

Reliever Josh Hader is unblemished so far.  Manager Craig Counsell went all in today, having Hader get EIGHT outs to beat the Cubs and win the 3-game series.  Even in early April, beating the Cubs is IMPORTANT.  :haz: :haz:

After a week off due to back soreness, Christian Yelich acted like he never left.  A booming 2-run homer to put the Brewers up by three.

The Brewers need Yelich back in a big way.  Their struggling pitching staff has been giving up a LOT of runs.

Until they get better, the Brewers will have to outscore everyone!!

Brewers' pitcher Brandon Woodruff had himself quite a day.

Not only did he come very close to a perfect game, but he also went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's in the Brewers' 9-1 thumping of the Phillies.

Posted Image

Woodruff mowed down the first 15 Philly batters, but a home run on a pretty good pitch ruined his bid for perfection.  He finished the day going 8 innings, with 10 strikeouts on only 97 pitches (73 strikes).  His only blemish was the home run by catcher Andrew Knapp.

Woodruff hasn't had a bad outing in over a month.  He's 7-1 with 75 K's in 64 innings.  He's quickly becoming a STUD.  :haz: :haz:

Brewers 6
Astros 3 (14 Innings)

Not even 24 - yes, twenty-four - strikeouts could stop the Brewers from winning a tough game in Houston.  Facing Justin Verlander on one of his good days, the Brewers struck out again and again and again.....except for three solo homers (Braun, Grandal, Thames).

Down 3-2 in the 7th, Erik Thames hit a pitch up and away for an amazing opposite field homer to tie the game.  That did it for Verlander, who fanned 15 Brewers in 7 innings.  The tie lasted until the 14th, when Mike MOOOOOstakas hit his 21st homer to put the Crew up 5-3.  Moustakas has been a godsend for the Brewers this year.  He's giving Christian Yelich some good competition for team MVP!

Christian Yelich looks like he's over his week-long slump!

He hit #30 last night and #31 a few minutes ago.  He's on pace to hit 58 homers with 126 RBI's.
He's broken Prince Fielder's Brewer record (29) for most home runs before the All Star break.

Their offense is almost dead, and they're probably not very grateful for it .....

Oh, they’ll turn it around. They’re certainly better than the Reds, after all. Much, much, much better.

Indeed it does.  It's one of the perks of playing in an enclosed stadium.  :haz:

Brewers down 4-1 in the 8th.

A Grand Slam for Tyler Saladino, who has been struggling to stay in the Big Leagues.
With his 2nd grand slam in as many games, he puts the Brewers up 5-4 after 8 innings.

But then that BUM Jeremy Jeffress gives up an easy 2-run bomb in the 9th to secure the Loss.  :rage: :rage: :rage:

Thanks, Brewers, for beating the Cubs. Oh, look, the St. Louis Cardinals are in first place.

The Brew Crew will do business with your team next month.  You've been warned!   :madra:
