I messed up the previous thread and set it as a Poll-only topic. I've been relistening to early Floyd before I see Nick Mason, in march, and Piper At The Gates of Dawn, and Obscured By Clouds have both started growing on me. I'd put them up with the big four.

I figured. I voted the Wall, because at this point it is my favorite Floyd album, meaning that I listen to it more than any other Floyd album in part or in its entirety. I really enjoy the film as well. Animals was my fav for a long time, and maybe still is, but I just don't go to it lately like I used to. Dark Side, another former favorite, is perfect, and their best, but, like Animals, I don't seek it out like I used to. Wish You Were Here is too inconsistent to have ever been my favorite. The Division Bell is one I really like, but not fav-worthy. Meddle as well.

Animals was my first PF album...and that's really a bit of a shame, cuz nothing else has managed to better it...

Of course DSOTM and The Wall better most everything else I pit them against so...maybe it isn't so bad.

I voted DSOTM as it opened the door to music that lead me to become a fan of Rush music. Christmas 1977 I received this gem, listened to it non-stop for like a week and just couldn't get enough. Supertramp, Yes, and Rush followed in the following years. The Wall was an instant favorite, Animals wasn't discovered for a while and even longer the for the others. So hard to pick favorites becuse they can change with years and moods etc.

No, Cygnus, I didn't buy tickets, and wasn't going. If I was, it would be on the Vancouver date, too.

My post isn't really a Pink Floyd album vote response. However since it relates to Pink Floyd.

I was listening to 'Run Like Hell', and 'One Slip' on Stingray Music Canada (Classic Rock Station). Both songs have this driving rhythm beat with a tonne of 'guitar echo delay' effects.

Then I heard 'Give Blood' by Pete Townshend, that David Gilmour plays guitar on. This sounds like a song Pink Floyd would do live as well.

Even 'Lunatic Fringe' by Tom Cochrane & Red Rider has a Pink Floyd vibe to it as well.

Also 'Time' by The Alan Parsons Project could be a musical cousin to 'Us andThem' in a way.

For me, Dark Side..., Wish..., and Animals are the only 3 consecutive albums that can respectably put up a fight (yet still lose) vs the ultimate 3 consecutive of Hemispheres, PeW, and MP.

Any of those 3 Floyd albums could be my #1 but it’s hard to vote against Dark Side. It’s timeless and absolute perfection. :blaze:

I go back and forth between Dark Side and WYWH. Animals is not in the running for me; I love the sound of it, but the ‘songs’ just aren’t there. I actually like Atom Heart Mother better than that one.

Top three are the first two I mentioned and Meddle, without a doubt.

I haven't missed a Pink Floyd ( or a PF member ) tour in the New York City area since 1973.

Animals was the best show of them all so my vote goes to the album of the same tour.

My top 3 albums

Animals

Meddle

Atom Heart Mother

Gotta be Meddle, Dark Side, and Wish You Were Here, for me (and not necessarily in that order, but those are the three)...but I really love Atom Heart as well.
