DifferentStrings89
So i am attempting to cover Jacobs Ladder off of permanent waves but cannot nail the solo tone? Any tips as far as effects? Maybe a harmonizer I feel like the track is doubled so it is a hard tone to approximate?
1-0-0-1-0-0-1
He used a parametric EQ for that solo, set to emulate a half-cocked wah pedal. He used that EQ a lot back then to create similar tones. The first solo in Natural Science is another example. If you have a wah pedal you could try messing around with that, adjusting the position of the pedal until you got something close to what you're hearing from Alex. A parametric EQ pedal would obviously work, but a graphic EQ might work too.

Funny you said that, because I was going to suggest a cocked wah, as that's what it sounded like to me.
JARG
It's definitely a very mid-rangy tone.

theredtamasrule
A “cocked wah”...this whole forum was worth creating just for that.

singh99
My wah is always fully cocked... ...just out of principle.
