He used a parametric EQ for that solo, set to emulate a half-cocked wah pedal. He used that EQ a lot back then to create similar tones. The first solo in Natural Science is another example.

 

If you have a wah pedal you could try messing around with that, adjusting the position of the pedal until you got something close to what you're hearing from Alex. A parametric EQ pedal would obviously work, but a graphic EQ might work too.

Funny you said that, because I was going to suggest a cocked wah, as that's what it sounded like to me.
