I've connected more with Springsteen than McCartney in the past, but McCartney's easily my preferred songwriter if you include Beatles stuff. Also I suspect I just haven't listened to enough McCartney solo stuff. All I really know is Band On The Run and a few hit singles.

That sounds magical! Dang, I'd love to see that. The River already sounds like the ideal of seeing Bruce live, I bet be even better when it's actually live!

Bingo

Bango

Bongo

Ervin

And Sebastian Bach, I guess.

The Honeybees are the reason they broke up.

Too bad they couldn't do anything about Bach.

Top 3 is easy for me

Rush

Floyd

Zappa

Then it gets harder

PH/VDGG

Genesis

Grateful Dead

Maiden

Yes

Any of the above will round out my top 5 on a rotational basis.

Zappa was another that almost made the cut.......so close.

i should have a list of honorable mentions, lol

Benny Goodman

Glen Miller

Count Basie

Duke Ellington

Lou Reed

Benny and Glen over Basie and Ellington? interesting.

How about Lou Reed over Miles Davis or Satchmo? :)

Guys, Hendrix is not a solo artist.

Correct:

The Jimi Hendrix Experience

The Band of Gypsies

But there were also plenty of times when those lines were blurred (Woodstock, post Band of Gypsies, Electric Landlady :P).

So instead of Jimi and Co. clogging up my top band picks, I put him here.

That’s would be like me calling The Beatles Paul McCartney to free up a spot ;)
