"In the past nine days, they have upset half of last April’s Final Four. First, there was Clay Mounce’s dunk with 1.6 seconds left that beat Loyola of Chicago 60-58, after Furman trailed by 13 points in the second half. Then came Saturday, when all five starters scored in double figures, while the Paladins outrebounded Villanova by seven and defended the Wildcats into 33.8 percent shooting."

Zags up 6 at the 8 min TO in the first half.

At times, Duke plays like they're at a HS all America game.

A clearly tiring Zag team holds Duke scoreless in their last 7 shots, and despite missing 4 HRs in the last 32 seconds, hangs on for an 89-87 win. They almost blew a 16 or lead in the last 15 minutes.

Zags got the win despite missing four straight free throws...Defense in the paint saves the day. Dukes first ever loss on Maui.

#6 ranked Nevada takes on Tulsa today. A chance to see if the NV hype is real.

Kenpom has them at #5, one ahead of Gonzaga...after yesterday's game.

Maybe they figure NV can make free throws when they matter?

Or their opponents can keep the ball in the park.

The Wolf Pack (I'm guessing they're unduly picky about it being two words) are now #1 in the nation in tempo adjusted offense according to kenpom.

#22 Badgers 72

#14 Hawkeyes 66

Huge win for the surging Badgers. Sloppy at times, with an unusually high number of fouls, they still came up with some super-clutch shots in the last minute to secure the win. Ethan Happ was about to have a coronary after fouling out in the last minute.... :o

With his free throw woes, it might have been a Pyrrhic victory for the Hawkeyes to foul Happ out.

Badgers should get Happ a shrink or even a hypnotist. His mental block regarding free throws is extreme!

Is there something in the water in Madison where solid players who do virtually everything else well, and get to the line a ton to miss so many free throws? Nigel Hayes ran into this later in his career, and it seemed to get worse as time went on.

The water is the same in many universities. Fundamentals like free throw shooting are not stressed as much as they were in the past.
