winter17
I have an Epiphone Les Paul Goldtop, and have been playing it pretty frequently for two years or so. I have noticed recently that past the twelfth fret the pitches start to flat. Is this the nature of an Epiphone guitar, or is there some caretaking note that I am missing that would cause this?

Well, the twelfth fret is the exact mid point between the nut and the bridge ... Have you noticed that this issue has become more noticeable over time - is it getting worse ?? How about string gauge - have you changed to a heavier or light gauge string ?? .... or are you playing very old strings ??? .. changed the nut ?? Your intonation most likely if off ... Here's some reading about the 12th fret ... https://www.cigarbox...sary/12th-fret/ Edited November 14, 2018 by Lucas
winter17
Come to think of it I can't say that I've changed the strings since I got the guitar. Not sure how I overlooked that.

I'd start there and see if that makes a difference ( it should ) If you can, try to get the same gauge that came with the guitar .. I think the Epi Les Pauls come with 10s Edited November 14, 2018 by Lucas
