You don't know what triggering actually is. It isn't just making someone feel uncomfertable, it also causes flashbacks and reminders of negative and traumatic events in your life, makes you feel sick/dizzy, gives anxiety, and even panic. Stop making it seem like a f***ing joke, because it isn't.

I could care less if Rush makes more music or not, it isn't a big deal to me. Lets all just apprechiate what we have already.

Sweetie...talking As someone who has battled many demons and who has been put in hospital for extended lengths of time...grow a thick skin. Being "triggered" is a modern form of slang, like many slurs we all use in everyday speech. It is used here in the form of humour and it really is mundane to see you make a deal of something that truly doesn't matter.

I know the generation beneath mine loves to be offended all the time by everything possible, but you can be smarter if you choose to be.

Being sensitive isn't the same thing as being sensible.

:goodone:

Terrible posting tbh

A sign of your immaturity tbh

Indeed. My teenage kids will say, "Triggahed," whenever someone loses their temper.

"Triggered" is certainly overused and abused these days, either jokingly or not. Having a past of addiction, abuse, self-harm, eating disorders, PTDD or other forms of mental illness or trauma can lead to certain situations, words, memories, etc. being "triggering" of certain symptoms of a particular mental illness.

However "boo hoo my favourite band doesn't exist anymore" wouldn't be triggering unless they were your only reason to be alive. People get sexually abused and see their abuser on their way to work. That's triggering. People come back from war with PTSD and hear a firework go off. That's triggering. An old drummer retired after 40 years? Cry me a river...Styx out of the lamplight.

You know what's not a bad idea? Pull out some of their albums they released before they retired. Some of them are really great, and all of them usually have something you can find to enjoy. And they have quite a few live albums too. I'd recommend all of them except A Show of Hands. The song list isn't that great. Geddy doesn't sound too hot on R40 either.

"...doesn't sound too hot on R40 either" is quite magnanimous...

Stop the negative talk about no more new Rush music. Stop the negative talk about no more new Rush tour.

tbh it triggers me...jk. NOT JK SERIOUS

STOP IT NOW

Here is science proof for u.

David Lee Roth leaves VH, “we’all never see anything like that again”. BOOM tour and new Music.

Axl, Slash and Duff Man will never reunite, BOOM touring together.

Bon Scott will not rise from the dead. BOOM Easter.

Good point. All I can say is that none of your examples can compare to the 41 years that was Rush.

Yes, but...

"...ever since we came back after Neil's terrible tragedy with his family, and having had those five dark years we were away, every tour I did with Rush I savoured. I would say that period from coming back after Neil's tragedy to the very end were really the golden years for me. I felt like I appreciated every gig, every note that we played. The camaraderie that the three of us had, I never took it for granted, not one day. So I would say that was my happiest time in Rush."

Five years + Lust for Cash + HGH = R50.

Oh how I wish I was kidding, but there is a Wounded Warrior commercial where one of the wounded "warriors" says, "I lost a leg defending freedom and I would do it again". What kind of brainwashing leads to that level of idiocy?

I'd be more depressed seeing them up on stage sounding like shit

As to Ged's voice on their last tour, there must have been a lot of depressed folks in the crowd...

I'm okay with them being retired. Their last album being Clockwork Angels and their last tour being R40 is an epic way to end an epic career. I don't want to see them on stage when they're 70 years old, and I certainly do not want them to tour with some sort of changed line up. Most bands don't stay true to their word, comeback and it's never the same. Rush are not most bands!

The same kind of brainwashing that causes a dim-witted missionary to willfully trespass on an off-limits island, knowing full well that the inhabitants are hostile to all outsiders. Knowing that the natives will kill you, you go anyway, cause you just have to bring Jesus to them.....

He tried to go a day earlier and was shot at and still went back the next day. He was clearly mentally deficient. Too bad he wasn't capable of using the brain his god gave him.

I agree with everything you said, except that, imo, they should have wrapped up at least 5 years earlier... Ged's voice on R40 was atrocious....
