It gets too much hate.

It revived their careers - and no band from the 60s was doing that in the mid 80s, aside from Yes, if you count them.

Who, Stones?

No hits that came as close as Starship. Stones didn’t have an 80s resurgence until 1989-90.

1981.

Or are you saying this wasn't a resurgence, but more of a sustained success?

Yeah imo

Its their attempt to cash in via mtv and it worked iirc

I much prefer Jane...

They had a run of 3 very, very good albums starting with Freedom At Point Zero which has Jane on it. The next 2 were Modern Times and Winds of Change. To me We Built This City is wimpy shite in comparison and I've always disliked it greatly because of that.

Or Emotional Rescue and She’s So Cold in 1980.

Or Undercover of the Night in 1983.

Or Harlem Shuffle in 1986.

The Stones have big hits from pretty much every album.

Good point - but yeah they were pretty sustained throughout the 80s. Nonetheless, they were a 60s band, predating JA by like 7 years.

The Stones were formed in 1958?

I

I think they were still known as the Quarrymen at that point.
