If you read the comments

Put the WHOLE quote out there:

"I would say there's no chance of seeing Rush on tour again as Alex, Geddy, Neil. But would you see one of us or two of us or three of us? That's possible. …"

So what the heck does that last part mean? If you see "three of us," that by definition is Rush, no?

Seems we only had to wait til Friday to find out...

Is that Kevin Shirley with them?

Yep...

If you read the comments on there, after reading some posts about producing a new Rush album, Kevin says, “No no people. Just a hello. No silly rumors now please.”

Yes, the pic of all three with Kevin Shirley was originally on Stuart Copeland's Instagram but Copeland then took it down due to the wild speculative comments.Nice to see them all looking good, though!

And naturally, even after Shirley said that, posters still kept asking if they are making a new album. People too often skip reading posts.

The production on Counterparts is fantastic. Dry rocking a la old Rush but with a modern take.

Great sound on that record.

Well what do you know? Guess this blows the "Neil doesn't speak to Alex and Geddy anymore" idea out of the water.

Hopefully Eddie Trunk gets the memo,

Counterparts was the last really well produced great sounding Rush record. Everything after was too compressed/distorted/overlayered/muddy/chaotic sounding

I thought Test for Echo sounded good...it’s just that I don’t like most of the songs all that much

The toms on T4E sound so muddy...I think it had something to do with the coated heads (same for VT...) but it’s not a good drum mix.

They don’t. You can see..nay...FEEL the tension in that photograph. Don’t be fooled by the perfunctory smiles.

I remember it sounding especially good in this context...

...but, that may just be a result of the added visual input. For example, when Neil gets into Driven here, the ghost notes are apparent. In the audio alone, I don't think I ever caught them. The same with watching his hi-hat footwork.

T4E was clear with a polished sheeen. Prefer C.P. with its lack of Sheen, winning.

Been a few years since I've pulled it off of the shelf, but I think it's a different mix too.

Right. It's Neil playing live drums to a drumless backing track, and having his drums fairly far out front in the mix.

Gordon Lightfoot is still touring.

Going to see him on the 22nd at the Centre in the Square in Kitchener, and seeing Lindsey Buckingham at the same venue the week before that.
