The only part of this I really feel like I need is the 5.1 blu-ray. If that was included with the regular CD release (or released as a standalone option) it would be a no-brainer, but it looks like it's only available in the super deluxe box set. So I'll probably end up getting it eventually. Not in a huge hurry, though. Edited by thizzellewashington

It's another no-buy frustration case for me since I can't pay that price for a single Blu-Ray. And it's still a mystery if Mr. "Genious" Steven Wilson has done the 5.1 mixes.

I wonder how rare the UK tour book really is? I have a copy and I’m guessing lots of others do too. I seem to remember they played 2 nights in Manchester and Newcastle and 4 in London. All in all they played around 20 dates on that UK tour.

Hells bells...just listen to the whole pinkpop show on YouTube for free.

This is a lackluster 40th anniversary for such an important album.

The band did say many times that the vault has been emptied.

Expect the St Louis boot to be disc 2 of the Permanent Waves 40th anniversary...

can't wait for the thread about whether or not it's a 2010's deluxe edition or a 2020's deluxe edition

I think I would prefer, if there is going to be an official live release from the tour, that they include the whole setlist. This would probably require another CD, but ... so what?

First choice would be an entire show from the Hemispheres tour ... if there is not a clean enough recording, then mash together a full setlist from the best of various live recordings from that tour to do the ENTIRE Hemispheres tour setlist!

Anthem

A Passage To Bangkok

By-Tor And The Snow Dog

Xanadu

Something For Nothing (reportedly dropped from all dates in Germany.)

The Trees

Cygnus X-1 (reportedly dropped from all dates in Germany.)

Hemispheres

Closer To The Heart

Circumstances (reportedly dropped from the April 23rd, 1979 show.)

A Farewell To Kings

La Villa Strangiato

2112 (excludes "Oracle: The Dream")

Encore:

Working Man

Bastille Day

In The Mood

Drum Solo

I would buy the physical CD set if it included the full setlist from the tour in some form -- as it is, I think I'll just wait and listen to it on Spotify and then decide.

Maybe I'll buy the polo shirt though ...

I suspect a full Manchester 1980 release in that case. We will see.

This trailer is absolutely amazing! I bought my two copies three days ago.

I feel so sorry for the idiot fake Rush fans who are so fuckking negative about this release. You know who you are.

Go watch Winnie The Pooh and jack off to Eeyore you negative ninnies!

Such downers on this forum about a great band.

Don't bitch because you work at Burger King and can't afford it.

Shut the fuckk up and embrace the grace under pressure.

"Hemispheres" was their apex album of intensity and creation.

You fuckking idiots ripping this edition just make pseudo Rush fans look like fuckking uneducated morons.

I will make sure to tell Geddy and Alex how embarrassing most of the posters are on The Rush Forum.

I'm sure 73 will not be a happy camper either with bad press.

Support the boys forever or as Geddy would sing in "Strange Brew...."

TAKE OFF!!!!

Fuking hosers on here man.

RUSH RULES!!!!!!

FOREVER!

Greatest trailer ever TM!

Bunch of mugs......some of you would buy an anniversary turd squeezed out by the boys if it was packaged prettily enough.

Oh, and Earl.....I can easily afford it, i just don't want to waste my cash on it when I could be doing much more productive things with my money like pissing it up against a wall. :moon:

I listened to that show today. Unfortunately for the band, and fortunately for the fans, there are so many high quality recordings of shows out there already that packaging one with a deluxe edition doesn't really offer you anything new. Except the Signals tour.
