They were close friends with MCR at the time, and it was written in the aftermath of frontman Bert Mcracken losing his fiance in death. It's a schizophrenic, genius pop/emo album that is soft and sweet one moment, and deranged and violent the next. An unpredictable, emotional and memorable album. I'd vote it over MCR any day.

I have not! But I suppose I shall sooner than later now, although I've not been on my emo in a few months really.

The Cat 3
Many thanks to The Cupcake Warrior for starting these threads of the 2000's. It has been great fun taking a focused look at the music of those years. Each top 5 album associated with each particular year have special meaning to me. Not too far back of a journey on memory lane, but a wonderful look back all the same. Thank you for that kind sir.
Mosher
In no particular order again: 1: Bring Me the Head of Gordon Sumner -- Admiral James T. Switzerland's best rocker2: The Empire Strikes First -- Bad Religion It's always about the lyrics3: Munly and the Lee Lewis Harlots -- Self-titled Munly's stories reveal a beautiful ugly4: Uh Huh Her -- P.J. Harvey As always, if she makes an album it's here5: Soviet Kitsch -- Regina Spektor Another poetic pianist like Tori, but with more winks
Mosher
I unforgivably neglected the magnificent Dirty South by the Drive By Truckers. Drop Regina, she made better albums later. Also, Slim Cessna's Auto Club put out the excellent Bloudy Tenent Truth Peace, but since I think their live album of pretty much the same songs a year later was far superior, I didn't include it. Then for the 2005 list I decided a live album shouldn't count. Oh well. They'll get on for Cipher in 2008.
