Speaking of Mr. Finebaum, he said this back on Oct 30, hitting the nail squarely on the head: “The only thing UCF has going for them is a grandstanding athletic director who just can’t keep his mouth shut, but also can’t schedule a decent opponent,” Finebaum said. “And (UCF has) a fan base that is delusional.”

Ask Auburn about being a decent opponent. I bet they wish they could have played the likes of The Citadel. Those military cadet types can be rough.

Aren't we talking about this year? I haven't noticed Auburn on UCF's schedule.

LSU will be the first and only decent opponent that UCF plays all year. UCF's biggest challenge all year is going to be a team that placed 5th or 6th in the SEC this year.

As for that comment about the Citadel, I take that as a swipe at Alabama. Funny thing is, by criticizing Alabama's schedule as somehow weak but at the same time overlooking the vastly weaker schedule of UCF, you only reveal yourself as being an irrational, inconsistent, grossly biased hypocrite when it comes to this entire subject. It is utterly absurd to criticize Bama's schedule while giving a free pass to UCF's far weaker one. Taking such irrational positions is what Finebaum had in mind when he said that UCF's fan base was delusional.

Urban Meyer to retire after Rose Bowl, with Ryan Day taking over as Buckeyes head coach

What about it, goose? Think Washington can send Urban Meyer into retirement with a loss in the Rose Bowl?

A tall order. But UW's defense is pretty good, so we'll see.

In general, the Pac-8/10/12 is a shadow of what it used to be. Last year's collective bowl performance was shameful.

Washington? Bwahaha, ngfh. Early line is Ohio State -5, they'll make that easily.

Surprised the line is so low, and in the regular season I'd take anOSU in a heartbeat but with the non National Championship Bowl Games, even the Rose Bowl, motivation is such a key factor; and not all teams are motivated equally.

they have the motivational factor of trying to win one for the coach . . .

Right DPR, that's why I think the Buckeyes will make the Michigan slaughter look tame by comparison.

Will he be back? (Urban Meyer)

"Meyer proclaimed Tuesday that he's leaving Ohio State because of health issues, and that he's done coaching. It's the same thing he said eight years ago after walking away from Florida."

He is 8 years older, and apparently in much poorer health.

As of now, at least 2 "key" recruits have withdrawn their commitment to THE Suckeyes.

Trying to compare how UCF fared against common opponents of the SEC: there is only one such common opponent, Memphis, which played against UCF twice and Missouri from the SEC once.

Memphis gave UCF a lot of trouble twice, once in the regular season and again on Saturday. The first game, UCF won 31-30. The second game, 56-41. In both of those games, UCF was losing at halftime and still losing when the 4th quarter started.

In contrast, Missouri stomped Memphis with no difficulty. Missouri was winning 21-3 at the end of the 1rst quarter, 48-20 at halftime, 62-27 at the end of the 3rd, with a final score of 65-33 Missouri is just a standard middle of the pack SEC team, finishing at 5th place in the SEC East (out of 7 places) with a 4-4 conference record and 8-4 record overall.

The ACC wins its first bowl game, as lowly 6-6 Wake Forest beats Memphis 37-34.

UCF's joke of a schedule looking even jokier.

And the Pac 12 loses again, in OT, Cal 7, TCU 10

Just end football out west already and focus on basketball.

Sure, there's Nevada and Gonzaga, but there's no Pac 12 team higher than 42 in kenpom.
