Do you dislike the debut so much you can't choose a favorite?

I don't have a favorite from the debut, because I don't rate it at all.

Too bad, it's a fun album.

Rutsey does a good job on here. Always liked the sound of his kit.

http://anewdomain.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/John-Rutsey-is-on-the-left.-Courtsey-of-Drummertalk.org_-300x178.png

Rock n' roll, Rush n' Rutsey!

Life would’ve been much easier if Rush had changed their name to “Peart” after Peart joined. That way, anytime Working Man and the other songs on the debut were referred to they would’ve been universally acknowledged as RUSH songs. Anything from Fly by Night onwards would’ve been known as PEART songs.

Altered history:

Peart wouldn’t have joined RUSH. Peart would’ve helped form PEART. Rush wouldn’t have had a second album and PEART’s debut would’ve been Fly by Night. PEART was the greatest band in the galaxy! RUSH was good too! :hail:

Your talents are wasted in the classroom. You should be an A&R man! (do they even have those any more?)

btw, here's some pee-art for ya...actually, more like poo-art:

I like how the colours and shading work against each other creating a feeling of nausea. And the meta-folk-art-portraitage is stuntedning.

It's an interesting portrait. Strange how the cymbals have such effort put into them to get that reflective texture - but the drum sticks, which one would think are relatively easy, look like strange pale octopus tentacles.

Now there's a band name.

I was kidding. I would be shocked if there weren't at least twenty threads with this particular topic, and I'd probably set the over/under line at 45. And take the over.

One must continually take stock of the worthwhile things in life.

I don't know if you made that up or quoted someone else, but this is an excellent quote. Congratulations. I am inspired.

Rush- meh

Fly By Night- In The End

Caress Of Steel- Bastille Day

2112- 2112

A Farewell To Kings- A Farewell To Kings

Hemispheres- The Trees

Permanent Waves- Jacobs Ladder

Moving Pictures- ouch...all of them? Ok...Red Barchetta

Signals- Losing It

Grace Under Pressure- Distant Early Warning

Hold Your Fire- Open Secrets

Presto- Chain Lightning/Presto

Roll The Bones- Bravado

Counterparts- Cold Fire

Test For Echo- meh

Vapor Trails- Sweet Miracle

Snakes And Arrows- The Larger Bowl

Clockwork Angels- The Wreckers

They did two songs named “meh”?! I thought they only did one! Great!

I have nothing against the debut, I have to replay it to find out what songs or song stands out (I will get onto it I promise). As for Test For Echo, I can't think of a single song off that album that I like enough to say I like more than others. If we are talking live tracks, Resist and Driven were fantastic but the entire studio album as it is is a miss for me.

I could have said Driven or Resist but I can't quite find it in me to praise the studio release. Not at this point in time. Maybe I will come back to T4E and enjoy it but I went from liking it when I first heard it to finding it tripe a few years later.

So glad it wasn't their last album.
