Their most unique album.

Presto to me is their most stand alone unique album, it’s definitely 80s. Seems related to PW somehow. Alex style is different on it. It almost makes my to 5.

Nothing is more uniquely Rush than Hemispheres, but you could say that about Waves and just about every other album apart from maybe the first

I'll still go for Hemispheres though

Either Presto, because of the shittiness of the music and entire songs devoted to trivia or Snakes for the turgidness (turgidity?) of the lyrics combined with the dirgidity (or is it dirgelike?) nature of the music? Edited by laughedatbytime

Did somebody say Presto is "shittiness"?

Presto is one of the best albums ever made more like it

Just like every RUSH Album Most Unique album Permanent Waves in my opinion

And Presto

Clockwork Angels was a concept album that had its first two singles released and toured nearly two years before the entire album released. That's kinda unique. A decent individual case could probably be made for half their albums.

Unique, as in not like any other Rush album, I'll go with HYF. Soft, easy listening AM radio-friendly, sterile-sounding, dominated by synths.

Yeah good point, as unique to rush a different thing - In which case i'd go forrr..

... Is actually quite hard..

Can see the HYF reasoning

I'll go for COS though. Has a feel & tempo all to itself

Yeah, turned out quite simple really. Defo COS, hands down.

Vapor Trails. Hands down. It seemed like they were trying to “fit in” to the general soundscape of rock music of that time. Definitely not their style.

:goodone:

It's a real outlier, for sure.

FBN - doesn't really have that "sister record"

I always saw CoS as its "sister record".

vibe-wise...

Bastille Day = Anthem

Lakeside = In The End/Making Memories

And, of course, you have the ByTor saga parts 1 & 2.

Power Windows is a musical fusion full of flavors. There is so much going on it's almost jazzy in it's musical execution. A "soundscape" if you will. I was absolutely hooked when it came out and I still love it today...

Power Windows is in my top three albums based on the “airplay” I give it.

good points - I always thought CoS was a warm up to 2112 and sonically they really sound the same, but I think you make a case for FBN and CoS being a couple too.

Rush - obvious reason - no Neil

FBN - doesn't really have that "sister record" ala Cos/2112 AFTK/Hem PeW/MP

Feedback - another obvious one

Yessir, Feedback sticks out like a sore thumb as it’s the only Rush album with music not written by Rush.

I never thought about it before, but there are no cover songs on any Rush album, other than Feedback...and parts of Signals. :P
