  3. 3. Which thought is closest to yours?

    • It was hard to vote because I like both almost equally.
    • It was hard to vote because I don’t like choosing between Rush songs.

    • It was easy to vote because Working Man pulverizes Caravan!
    • It was easy to vote because Caravan steamrolls Working Man!
    • Young Geddy’s banshee vocals > Old Geddy’s occasional marbles in the mouth vocals
    • Final form of Rush > any B.P. Rush tune ((B.P. = Before Peart))
    • It seems to me I could live my life in a world lit only by fire.
    • I have no thoughts as I’m a non-sentient pickle.

Caravan is one of the greatest openers in their catalogue. The first time I heard that descending riff it was like a whole new facet of the world of rock and roll being opened up to me (of course that was back in like 2012 when I'd barely really gotten into music). On the other hand, Working Man is a cemented classic with one of those riffs that, if you don't at least bob your head to, you're already dead. This was tough, but I went with Caravan since it always brings back memories of that first time listening to CA and realizing at least two things. 1. This is absolutely awesome, the song, the album, and the band. 2. Dad needs to hear this cuz he doesn't know about their new stuff and this is right up there with the classics.

Caravan, ok, decent.

But Working Man is just POW a bolt of lightning right from the start. The version at the Odeon (DS pt. 3) is one of my favorite live Rush tunes.

I've heard enough Working Man to last a lifetime.

I've heard enough Caravan to well, hear enough Caravan.

Meh...they both are solid B- to B+ material.

Working Man is a solid rocker which though good, is in my opinion somewhat overrated by the fan base.

Caravan however is utter shite, so an easy decision here......
