I am totally flattered Johnny!!  I love this poll idea!!!  I need some time to think about my votes.  As for 1978 they all get an A except Pink Panther!  Was never a fan!

But really?  "Hooper" is one of my all time favorites!!  Every Which Way But Loose and of course Heaven Can Wait!  I have seen all of these in the theater!!!

I remember watching Grease, Kramer vs Kramer, Amityville, Star Trek, and Moonraker in the cinemas. I might’ve gone to seen more but I don’t remember. Everything else except for Heaven Can Wait, I saw on HBO or other not long after their release.

I was 5 or 6 when Grease came out. I knew it was a musical but I thought there were going to be live singers and dancers because of the way the cinema looked.

Amityville made me scared of the dark until I was 9 or 10!

That is so cool Johnny!  I didn't get to see many R rated movies in the theater because I was 10 years old!  I love "Amityville."  I saw the TV version of "Halloween" when I was a kid and even that version freaked me out!  My parents took me to see JAWS in the dome!  I couldn't sleep for a week and that was PG!

My John Carpenter obsession really kicked in in 1981.  My parents took me to see "Escape From New York!"

I was going to mention "Oh God" with George Burns and John Denver but I was off a year!  1977!  Underrated movie!

My parents took me to see horror IF it was devil-based (Omen, Amityville, etc.). They never took me to see any slasher films...they’re old school Catholics after all.

For slasher movies or other non-devil horror, I went with the eldest Blaze bro who’s 11 years older than me but looked much older. He used to tell me, “If the theater people ask, just say I’m your uncle” Saw Friday the 13th in 3D that way, among others.

Saw Escape from New York with dad & a couple of bros. I remember after the movie he asked us, “Did you like it?” Of course we enthusiastically said “yeah”. He agreed with a “Yeah, I liked it too.” He talked about it in detail too, and dad isn’t too much of a talker actually. Saw First Blood with dad and the same 2 bros the year after.

Come to think of it, I clearly remember watching Aliens and Full Metal Jacket a few years later right after school (and still in my Catholic school uniform) with dad.

The Blazes have always gone to the movies.

:blaze: :blaze: :blaze: :blaze: :blaze: :blaze:

That is awesome!  You had an older brother take you!!!  Lucky!!  I am the oldest in my family!  Hence if I had an older brother or sister perhaps I would have seen RUSH in the late 70's.  Oh well.

Another movie I loved although in the early 80's was "Poltergeist."  Blew my young mind!

"Friday The 13th" in 3D is underrated!!!

Yup, lucky.

Poltergeist...saw that with both parents & a couple of brothers. I think the dude peeling his face off was the scariest bit. One bro and I still scream this Craig T. Nelson line to this day, “YOU SONOFABITCH!!! YOU ONLY MOVED THE HEADSTONES! DIDN’T YA?!! DIDN’T YA?!! WHY?!!! WHY?!!! AHHHH...!!!!” Or something almost identical to that

Here, let’s check it

OMG!  You are too funny dude  I had the "headstones" scene in my head when I typed that last post!  EPIC!

You’d get a kick out of MarkyBlaze & I doing the line. We try to outdo each other...yet neither of us actually do a good rendition of Craig T.Nelson  We just scream louder! Marky’s 14 year old daughter thinks we’re a couple of nerds...and she’s pretty much spot on

That would be awesome dude
I can't afford it now but I am serious.  I will fly to Japan one year to hang out with you.

The list is long man.

I want to fly to see Pat, Rod, Toy R, Cat 3, hell the list goes on and on!

Moonraker ??  :laughing guy: :laughing guy: :laughing guy: We went and saw it in the $ 1.00 movie theater and it still feels like my mom overpaid!

I guess since it was James Bond people went. Its predecessor, The Spy Who Loved Me, I remember as being good though. For Your Eyes Only which followed Moonraker was also good.
Yeah, those two were awesome!  Better than Moonraker and Live and Let Die, I think.

I liked Live and Let Die too!

Moonraker was almost as crappy as Brosnan’s crappy Bond...although I do remember Goldeneye being decent.

"The Spy Who Loved Me" is my other all time favorite Bond film.  I love "For Your Eyes Only" and of course your "OCTOPUSSY!"

The Brosnan Era sucks JB!!!

It does suck. I preferred Dalton’s Bond films (which i didn’t like) over the last couple from Brosnan. Just dumb. The ONLY thing of value was Halle Berry in a bikini.

I agree about Berry although even her career has shit the bed.

I will take Daniel Krieg over Dalton and Pierce.

I can't believe I picked the same night to watch the "Mechanic" sequel.

The Universe is alive and well.

Jason Statham should be James Bond.

Seriously.

Jason Statham is the only one who could kill James Bond.

Seriously.

LOL

Let's write a screen play then!

The last James Bond film.

Daniel Krieg is Bond but Jason Statham is the villain.

Jason actually kills Bond in the last Bond film.

Would be EPIC

Jason could take over Ian Fleming's baby and they could do darker British Spy movies.   008?

The A Team:

- The Deer Hunter
- Alien
- Halloween

And after really disliking Rain Man, I've come around to appreciate Dustin Hoffman .. Straw Dogs, All The President's Man and Marathon Man are all exceptional and his performances are great ... So I've got to get around to seeing Kramer Vs Kramer sometime soon ..

I've seen just about every other movie in contention, but of these, only The Deer Hunter, Alien and Halloween get the A

I'd give The Warriors, Manhattan, Boys From Brazil, Dawn, Mad Max, Phantasm, Invasion, The Omen II, Tourist Trap, Interiors all As

I've gotta see Eyes Of Laura Mars and The Onion Field again but both could be there too

Still hard to believe that Interiors is a Woody Allen film. I probably wouldn’t give it an A though. I put it down as a solid B in my grade book.

The third section is the most telling. But the percentages there should be looked at more closely as opposed to the percentages which are seen at a glance.

All of the flicks have been voted as being better than Halloween.

6 out of 10 voters said Animal House is better.

7 out of 10 said Deer Hunter is.

The scariest stat: 1 person even said Jaws 2 is better than Halloween.

Chew on that Earl.

First time I saw Halloween I was at an 8th grade slumber party.  7 or so girls all vying to be farthest from the door (where the boogeyman would make his entrance, of course) and all of us trying to hide behind the couch...we were scared shitless.  *Sigh*  Good times, man.  Good times.
