I haven’t clicked on it...yet.

Wondering if it’s some acapella experiment, some poppy tribute, or an overly testosterone-driven death metal version...though I wouldn’t want any of those.

I didn't really like the Xanadu too much.  But I saw a link to this Subdivisions interpretation that I thought was pretty well done...  https://www.youtube....h?v=W4vd9OVLO7Q

I know I am new here so I apologize if I brings up things that have been discussed a million times but this video still maybe one of the best videos I have ever found on youtube.  Hopefully it will be new to some and if not hopefully it will bring back fond memories... https://www.youtube....h?v=4XsYuHbXZUk

This is fantastic.  A cover version of a song should be a band's interpretation/re-thinking of the original, but the essence of the original should remain (in other words, just re-using the lyrics doesn't work for me).

This cover does a great job of paying tribute to the Rush version.

Actually, it is nothing that I would really listen to again but I have to give them props for the way they arranged it. They made it into a pretty good song for that style of music but I am not really into that style of music,
I have seen that cover of Subdivisions posted on here before and the guy does a great job.
Welcome to TRF!

It would be impossible to post that video too many times. That girl is amazing! I wonder if that girl is now successful in the music industry somehow? If she is not, she should be.

20 seconds in and it sucks.

Sounds like Green Day playing Xanadu. :boo hiss:

Here’s a not so different yet different take on Subdivisions:

((I don’t care about it, I’m just putting it here because cover songs are what’s going on in here))

I still easily prefer the Jacob Moon cover.

That cover was really just the original recording playing at 1.5 x speed.

But seriously, any band that does a Rush cover gets my respect.

Only if it's well done. Sometimes it works, Sometimes it doesn't.

That cover of Xanadu is pretty fun.  I enjoy it when a band does a cover and truly makes it their own, while still paying respect to the original.  This one does a great job of balancing the two goals.
