I thought it might be interesting to have a Winter Olympics thread. Anything about the events could be up for discussion. With people in all different time zones, though, what about result spoilers? Just say that there might be some?

Short track skating

The opening ceremonies had Mr. Coconut Oil Tonga, though!  He actually has an interesting back story-

Yes, I have.  My wife's family (Canadians) are big curlers.  Her father even competed at the USA nationals for team Washington, back in the day.

I'm enjoying the mixed pairs curling right now.   A rare format.

"HURRY HARD! HURRY HARD!"  Curling is 1 of those sports that I'd heard of but knew little about but I find oddly appealing to watch. 100% more so than any figure skating which gets the lions share of the coverage.

As much as I think gun owners are losers, I like the Biathalon the most.

It is somewhat chess-like in terms of control of territory, and looking ahead. More athletic than one might think, as well.

I'm just waiting for the moment one those guys loses it and turns to start firing into the crowd. You know they want to, right? That's what gun owners secretly hope to do, kill someone, preferably a brown skin "person".

The US men's hockey team lost to Slovenia.  This is what happens when you have a bunch of guys from BU on the team, and the only guy from BC is 39.
