Exciter, White Heat, Red Hot and Better By You, Better Than Me is as good as any one - two - three punch to start an album ever ..

I love this era of Priest ... Classic album

Duck, will there be a special edition / anniversary release ??

I don't think so because based on the ones that were given a 30th Anniversary edition treatment, the criteria for doing them must be determined by record sales as all of those were platinum albums, and the ones that weren't are only Gold.

There wasn't really a single on the album that could have got it to sell though. Look how much Screaming sold based off one big hit song. I wonder if the album might be close to platinum or maybe even is by now. The RIAA doesn't give out the certification as soon as an album is eligible. The updated figures need to be requested by the band or it's management then the certification process can begin if the album has earned one.

This album turned 40 the same year I do. Must have been destiny that I would become a metalhead.

British Steel, Screaming, Defenders and Turbo all went platinum in the 80's soon after release. That's why they did 30th Anniversary editions of them and not the rest.

What do you mean?  I'm pretty sure their best album is also their best selling album, unless the next album (which is also great) benefited from following it  :)

Killing Machine probably did benefit from following such a milestone, but I'm really confused that you think Stained Class is their best-selling album. :P

Now I’m confused.  My copy doesn’t say Stained Class.  I DO have an album by them with that name though.  Does one of us have something like a Japanese pressing?  :P

Beyond The Realms Of Death is incredible. Managed to get the classic rock station to play it once.
