Phil Mogg not only had/has one of the best voices ever in hard rock, he penned some fantastic lyrics and over the past 45-50 years has been consistently great and undoubtedly prolific ..

It can also be the fact that I've never been a UFO fan is the reason I don't know him. Let's not pretend that him or the band are household names either.

 

He's not, but the band is cited as an influence of a lot of bands that ARE household names. And around here, being a household name is often treated like a bad thing..

I agree on Tate. Perhaps because he is such a douche bag over the last several years.
