It's been a nice break from the monotony on here but alas here we go!

The Texas King will always be the "Jack" Of All Trades to me.

For I will always be the KING of boring you all with random polls and threads. I was here first. Gag me with a spoon.

But of course Duck then is considered the LORD here. LOL!!

So considering there is Much Ado About Nothing on here anymore, let's have some fun!

I have compiled 8 of the greatest three piece blues rock bands across this blue marble land.

If I have forgotten a few then let me know. Sorry, Budgie, The Police, Primus and Rush don't count.

This is a BLUES ROCK POLL!

No one is perfect, I am sure I forgot a few.

So have at it kids.

I'm leaning towards Rory Gallagher. The Irish Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I love all of these bands.

Tough!

Hence this poll...............

We all have 9 lives. 9 bands that rule. Just ask Baby Cat and Cat 3...... LaTroy..............

Hi Earl

I absolutely love SRV and Double Trouble, but I can't forget about Reese Wynans on keyboard.

Which rules them out as my favourite Blues Rock trio.

So I'm voting 'other'.

Johnny Winter Band featuring:

Johnny Winter - guitar.

Jon Paris - Bass and harmonica

Bobby Torello drums.

Second Winter?

Damn 13!

Well played. Pun intended.

For some reason I didn't think Johnny was in a three piece. Legend.

Ironically I have all of his albums. Shame on me.

Yes I know 13.

SRV hired a keyboard player and a sax for the "So What" record.

Nothing touches Stevie with Chris and Tommy.

Man I love me some EJ too. Incredible trio. "Cliffs Of Dover."

ZZ Top was so amazing as a Texas Blues Band.

I can't stand "Eliminator" or "Afterburner" or anything after those albums.

The new Billy Gibbons solo record is better!!! WTF????

Billy Gibbons did an intimate show close to my home town.

Played some songs, talked about his life and cars etc.

Apparently it was so bad people demanded their money back :eh:

Here's a blues rock trio to consider....

1974. From Canada.

Geddy Lee - Bass

Alex Lifeson - guitar

John Rutsey - drums.

Kinda sound like Cream meets Janis Joplin meets Led Zeppelin :P

Great poll Earl!

Z Z Top...

...even they've had a bluesy reboot of sorts.

In spite of selling millions of records, endless concert dates and being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they are somehow still a bit underrated.

Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard have been together since 1969...

...going on 50 years of bluesy greatness!!!!

Great poll Earl, but had to vote "other"

MOUNTAIN!

Leslie Wests guitar tone and voice rule, and Felix Pappalardi (RIP) was one of the best bassist/vocalists ever.

ZZ Top beats out Cream and Hendrix for me, as far as blues rock trios go. Hendrix himself is the best guitarist of the bunch, but his band was only so awesome. Cream didn't last long enough to be even better than they were, which is a shame, cuz I think they had it in them. Clapton stopped rocking shortly after that, though he was still great.

But how can I say no to Cheap Sunglasses?

I just went through a serious ZZ Top obsession. Of course I passed on everything from Eliminator and up.

Billy does RULE.

Have you guys checked out his latest solo album?

I finally gave in and picked it up. He's trying to add a modern edge sound but I kind of like it.
