70's AC/DC

70's Deep Purple

70's Black Sabbath

70's Rush

70's Rainbow

I initially thought I'd have a difficult time filling this list out, but actually I ended up having to leave off quite a few albums.

goose, I agree with you about live albums ruling the decade, but I don't like putting them on these kinds of lists, since they often end up being a "best of," collection.

The thing about the great 70s live albums, though, is that the songs are transformed and, in the case of those I listed, greatly improved, IMO. Life is breathed into the songs with the Frampton, Queen, Wings, Cheap Trick, and Eagles efforts, especially.

Also missing from my list... Sabbath, Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Rainbow, and on and on. What a decade!

YES!

This one will definitely be on my list...I’m stoked to see that you included it as well.

I’ll have to think about this all awhile...

I think McCartney's might have the best transformation. The version of "Maybe I'm Amazed," on that album is the definitive version. Honorable mention is a tie: Do You Feel Like We Do and I Want You to Want Me. I've never heard the Queen or Eagles albums though.

:o

Queen's live Killers delivers great versions of I'm In Love With My Car, Death on Two Legs, Now I'm Here, Keep Yourself Alive, Spread Yours Wings, and Don't Stop Me Now. Plus, it has a fantastic acoustic set with Dreamer's ball, Love of My Life and '39.
