Entre_Perpetuo
Wishbone Ash - Throw Down The Sword preferably the version from Live Dates for the killer solo, but the overlapping solos on the original studio recording are wonderful as well versus Judas Priest - Dreamer Deceiver two rather similar songs in structure, tempo, mood, and style, but which do you prefer? Just for the solo on Live Dates, Wishbone Ash gets my vote here.
J2112YYZ
Got no clue about Wishbone Ash. Heard the name before and that's it. So Priest because it's f***in Priest. Edited December 28, 2017 by J2112YYZ
Lucas
In this case, a vote for one is no slight to the other .. Both songs are classic IMHO But I think that Throw Down The Sword hits perfection - Wishbone Ash at their finest Edited December 29, 2017 by Lucas
Entre_Perpetuo
In this case, a vote for one is no slight to the other .. Both songs are classic IMHO But I think that Thrown Down The Sword hits perfection - Wishbone Ash at their finest Couldn't agree more! I knew nothing about Wishbone Ash, had no real connection with them, but I was digging the live record I'd just bought. Then I heard just the first two notes of the solo in Throw Down The Sword, and I was held captive for the next couple minutes by the astounding feat of a man singing through his guitar. But Dreamer Deceiver has such an incredible build, and Halford slays his vocal (as usual). Fine solo too.
Texas King
Both very good songs. Went with Priest.
