Pretty straightforward. These two are easily the most infamous rock operas ever created, each exploring a character trapped in his own mind, with absent father figures (to an extent) and they each become some kind of superstar with slightly varying results.

For my money, The Wall is more cinematic and a bit easier to follow, and slightly more captivating, but Tommy's greatness cannot be discounted. With  better production especially, who knows how much greater it's impact might've even been.

Both are  not my favs.....but The Wall as it has more music i enjoy.

Tommy falls completly flat for me.

i also wanna say though it may not be my fav......The wall comes across miles better in a live setting.  I saw Waters iin 2010 on his Wall tour.  Fantastic show.

Tommy....I've always found Floyd to be a bit of a snoozefest to be honest.

I've never even seen Tommy, but I like The Wall so much there's no way Tommy could surpass it.

Tommy has it's moments....but I'm a HUGE Wall fan....  (Seeing Roger Waters do it live a few years back was one of the best shows I ever saw!)
