I wish i could join in......but got 3 songs into Power Windows and was well and truly bored so.....another time, lol

Mick

Anything outside those five...sheesh...

I really despise his freaking creaky door/chipmunk orgasm squeal of the seventies!

Hemispheres makes me wonder if he got inspiration from Yoko Ono.

I am going to spin Presto tonight. For some reason I really feel like I need this band right now.

You'll be surprised how good they sound when you haven't listened to them for awhile. Makes you realize all the more why you loved them to begin with.

:rush: :Neil: :geddy: :Alex: :rush:

Been playing Rush all day!

Grace Under Pressure

Hold Your Fire

Presto

Roll The Bones

Counterparts

At this point in time, my top five Rush albums.

I have as well. Nice list!

Power Windows

Hold Your Fire

Presto

Hemispheres

A Farewell to Kings

Are probably mine. I tend to put my favorite Rush albums in pairs. Power Windows/Hold Your Fire, Hemispheres/A Farewell to Kings, Test for Echo/Counterparts etc

A Farewell To Kings and Moving Pictures would fight for a place in my top five, and likely win. Vapor Trails, Permanent Waves and Power Windows would round out my top ten.

I can sort of live without the rest!

Moving Pictures is actually at my bottom 5 haha, I have a lot of unpopular opinions being Moving Pictures, the Debut, Permanent Waves, 2112 and Roll the Bones being at the bottom

Bad, thin-sounding production with drums that sound like tin cans and tupperware.

Exactly. Terrible. I had all but given up on the band at this point.

Presto is a great album.

Show Don't Tell, Chain Lightning & The Pass is a killer opening trio.

Most people can't make it halfway through Chain Lightning. They usually turn it off before it kills them though.

Chain Lightning is beautiful

Eek...I have said it before...I will say it again...

My favourite Rush song alongside Bravado.

Played Presto today, also half listened to Hems on the way back to school this morning (was sleeping). Both wonderful albums. I know I rag on Hems a lot for not being all it's often cracked up to be, but what it gets right, it gets astonishingly right.

But yeah, this is about Presto. I like what Segue said about it being a funky little album, I believe that's true. But the other thing is almost all of these songs are some of their best written pop tunes. Catchy, peppy, uplifting, emotional, deep but not overwhelming (well, I imagine The Pass is for many others). That tinny sparkly production really suits what they were going for here (now on RTB that's another matter, but I digress). Presto is great. Never forget Presto.

Also, there's a good reason the only Rush song I've actually performed is the title track to this, lol. :P

It's an album to listen to when you just want to ditz out.

I am glad for you. I don't expect that to ever happen with me.
