This is a hard one! I like them both a lot. Kind of like apples and oranges to me though, ABBA to me was always more high energy and a little more pop because of that. The Carpenters, while def. pop, always had such beautiful arrangements for Karen's great voice that they seem more classic to me. Carpenters by a hair, though.

Almost to the best time of the year! I play this more than one family should be forced to listen to, but it's excellent . . . .

Carpenters. Never got the ABBA thing.

I remember seeing The Carpenters a lot on TV in the late 60's and 70's.

They speak the truth too about "Raining Days and Mondays"

Voted iron maiden

Sadly, it never got beyond a few rough demos. One can only wonder how glorious Maiden would have been has Karen Carpenter not succombed to anorexia. Luckily, Di'anno was able to step in, and the rest is history.

Hmm, the battle of cheese. Cheddar or Swiss?

I choose

Chedder (ABBA)

Both chicks were hotter than anorexic Karen. That required alot of deep thought.

Speaking of cheese, that prompted me to do some research. Hmm no ABBA listed here:
